2012: MCS Safe Cabin on Wheels

This little cabin on wheels stands 13' tall and is 8X12' in dimension (with an additional 4 feet for the front porch and awning).

Most of the building materials are recycled/reclaimed, such as the utility trailer, the wool insulation, the windows, the oak T&G flooring, the exterior redwood siding, the interior redwood ceiling boards, rafters, screws and nails, and all exterior and interior trim pieces were old redwood boards planed and finished with tung oil. What isn't recycled: the corrugated metal roofing, the 3/8" plywood sheathing (which I sealed with AMF Safe Seal), the MgO board (a safe, drywall alternative), the 2x3 douglas fir studs (which I painted with Mythic paint).

We utilize an outdoor composting toilet year-round and an outdoor kitchen in the drier months. In the winter, we use the indoor kitchen and heat the house with an electric heater. quality...
